SDP launches its East Delhi Center from 1 Sept 09

The SDP schools programme will soon get underway at the DDA Yamuna Sports Complex (YSC), Delhi.

Also, professional and qualified coaching will be conducted by SDP coaches in the afternoon on Tuesdays and mornings on weekends starting 1 September 2009.

Tuesday - 2.30pm to 4.30pm
Saturday and Sunday - 11am - 1pm

Fee (to be deposited at the DDA-YSC Reception Desk):
1. DDA YSC Members - Rs. 1500/ per month;
2. Non-Members - Rs. 2000/ per month

Seats are limited. Enrolled kids will receive valuable counseling guidance with special emphasis on balancing squash with academic performance and excellence.

Golf and Rugby 7's make it to the 2016 Olympics on 13 August 09!!!!

A sad day for Squash lovers. But, we must not give up the spirit with which we campaigned for the inclusion of the sport at the London Olympics 2016. The popularity of Squash has really picked up over the last 3-4 years in India. A lot more school kids now know about the game and many also play it. We also see a marked increase in the number of competitive tournaments being played all over our country. There is a growing family of schools in Delhi which have begun to publish Squash as a co-curricular sport in their school brochures.

But....the road to the Olympics still has to be tread by all lovers of this great sport. One day, we must and we will succeed!!

To all participants for selection of Delhi State team for Squash for Inter-State Matches, Nationals 2009.

It is hereby informed to all the players participating in the above Trial that:

1. Final selection trials for both Delhi-A and Delhi-B Men’s team will be held on 8.8.09 from 11.00 a.m. at Vasant Kunj, DDA Sports Complex, New Delhi.

3. A major tournament namely the SPRITE – ISP ALL INDIA OPEN SQUASH TOURNAMENT 2009 is being held from 22^nd to 25^th Aug. 2009. The players will find that dates for the above tournament and Inter-State championships are clashing. However, considering that it is a Major tournament and many players will like to take part in it some condition has been imposed on the players desirous of taking part in the trials. Organizers of Sprite-ISP tournament in condition No. 11 have clearly mentioned that players participating in the other senior tournament i.e. the Inter-State championship can get modification of their match timings from Sprite organizers if they are clashing.

The players participating in the trials on the above dates will have to assure the selectors of Delhi State team that they will give priority in the Inter-State tournament where they will be representing the Delhi State and will first play their Inter-State matches on a particular date and only later on play their matches at the Sprite-ISP tournament.

To : All persons desirous of participating in the Kingfisher 57^th National Squash Championship 2009

Dear Sir,

This is to inform all concerned that due to overwhelming response for the 57^th National Squash Championship, it is decided that the championship will be conducted from 15 Aug to 20 Aug instead of 16 Aug to 20 Aug 09 at Delhi Gymkhana, 1, Safdarjung Road, New Delhi. Some of the initial matches are planned to be conducted at the second venue at DSOI, Dhaula Kuan New Delhi-10 from 15 to 18 Aug 09. The Schedule and draws of the matches will be displayed at both the venues and at the SRFI Website also. Players are requested to see the schedule and find out the venue and time of the match.

The matches will be conducted as per the following schedule.

• THE Delhi Gymkhana (Main Venue) From 15 Aug 09 to 20 Aug 09. Contact Mr. Manan Mashruwala at Delhi Gymkhana Club

• DSOI (Second Venue) From 15 Aug 09 to 18 Aug 09. Contact Wg Cdr Vijay Ingale (M) 9810529260, 9310016341.

Delhi Trials......some details!!

Trial for selection of Delhi Squash team

1. The selection Committee will consist of Dr.B.I.Singh (Chairman),Shri Vijay Goel,Shri Lalit Advani,Wg Cmdr Ingle, and Sharad Sharma.

2. A total of 8 players will be selected 4 for Delhi A and 4 for Delhi B.

3. The selection will be done in 3 stages.5 players namely M/S G.Nandrajog, Amjad, Karm Kumar, Suhail Kapur and Gunraj have been directly seeded to the 3^rd stage.The3rd. (Final stage) trials will be held sometime next week which will be informed later on.

4. 13 players namely M/S Anil Bhagat, Aditys Advani, Aseem Ingle, Ashay Jain, Divij Singh, Gursimar Singh, Harshit Jain, Hemant Daulata, Kunal Mehra, Sajid Husssain,Imran Khan, Shakir Hussain and Sahaj Bishnoi have been seeded to 2^nd stage which will be held on Sunday 2nd Aug at the Vasant Kunj DDA Sports complex from 10 a.m.

5. 19 players namely M/S Siddhant Kumar,Siddant Parnaik, Junaid, Saurabh, Rupinder, Dhiraj, Nikhiljeet, Mayank Sharma.Alankrit, Abhishek Kumar, Harnam, Puneet,Tejpal, Sachit , Anirudh, Karan,Sidhant,Sikandar and Chitvan will be required to play the first stage starting at 11 a.m. on 1^st Aug. at the Vasant Kunj DDA Sports Complex.

6. All the 1^st stage matches will be 11 point scoring best of 3.All the players who have expressed their desire to participate in the trials are required to report at the venue on the above specified dates and time.Junaid has his school on the 1^st of Aug so he has been given 3 p.m. as the reporting time.Players may be required to play upto 3 matches.

7. 6 players will be selected to play in the 2^nd stage and they will be required to come on 2^nd again.

Invitation for entries to Junior Squash Nationals to be held in October 09

( This circular is only for DELHI JUNIOR SQUASH PLAYERS )

All Delhi Junior Squash Players desirous of participating in the Daly College Sub-Junior/ National Open Squash Championship from 21^st Oct to 25^th Oct 2009 and Inter State Squash Championship from 25^th Oct to 29^th Oct 2009 Venue-The Daly College, Indore PLEASE PAY ATTENTION:

As per SRFI Rule No. 17 mentioned in the “RULES & CONDITIONS OF PLAY” each participant (apart from Professionals) has to pay an entry fee of Rs.200/- to SRFI. For this a consolidated demand Draft / Cash / Cheque of the entry fee must be then sent by DSA to the “Squash Rackets Federation of India” at the time of submitting the entries.

All are therefore, requested to please send their entry fee to DSA so that the same can be forwarded to SRFI. They have given DSA till 21^st Sep at 1200 hrs 2009 to submit the consolidated entry fee.

We may mention here that in case your entry fee does not come to us within time your entry is liable to be rejected.

Enclosed is the entry form for the The Daly College Sub Junior / Junior National Squash Championship to be held in Indore from 21-25 October 2009. For your information, the Interstate Squash Championships will be held from 25- 29 October 2009.

The closing date for entries is 21 September 2009.

Kindly note that the entries along with the entry fees must be sent to the Squash Rackets Federation of India only through the affiliated state associations of the Federation. No direct individual entries will be accepted. Entries can also be sent directly to the Federation through Associate Members under section 9 (b) of the Constitution viz. Clubs, Schools, Colleges, or other organizations not specified.
